Dyslextwhere is a knitwear label founded in Iceland in 2008 by Hanna Jonsdottir (Iceland) and Ingrid Brandth (Norway).
A typo on a knitted hat was found in Iceland the summer of 2008, which lead to a buzz on the island. Should the owner be confronted? Should the maker be confronted? Where they aware? The topic was touchy.
We live in the era of typo acceptance in fast communication through technology, but still not in the world of creativity, craft and slow writing. Yet in those professions, we find the the strongest presence of Dyslexia.
Dyslextwhere makes hats by hand. They always use the best quality yarn and select their words carefully. Even today typos may still occur occasionally because no one is always erfect.
The hats are knitted in Norway or in Iceland.
Dyslextwhere aims to modernise handicraft by being open to imperfection in slow writing. Signature product are knitted hats made of 100% wool. Typos may appear in our work.
